Old Amat,i my new friend :)

Hello..Alek here ...
I am new on the sax... Last 15 years I was trying to get one... but they were so expensive... so 15 years ago I bought clarinet and played sometimes...
Finally ..a month ago..I bought an Amati Classic Super Tenor... for a cheap... and started to play...

This is how it sound in my hands .. few days after I received horn...

Horn needs to be repaded ...
I have some vintage noname mouthpiece... suppose hardrubber...cause it is pretty heavy weight... Problem is ...it is pretty open tip... It is hard for me to play on it...
I have chance to buy brand new Vandoren T27 for 60 euro...in my town...
So is it good for beginer?
I have Rico No.2 reeds... I feel like I need spme less strong...1,5 suppose... Can I found those on the market?
When I play mouthpiece only I got an A. Friend told me that it shoud be G ...
Also when I am plaing horn... my pitch is sharp a bit... Suppose less opened mouthpiece and thinner reed will make my tune more correct...

Best Alek

Yes, you should be playing a Concert G on an open mouthpiece:

If you are a newer player, playing sharp on the open-mouthpiece exercise is probably a natural function of compensating for a weak embouchure. After those muscled become stronger with practice it should be easier to play in a concert G.

Vandoren mouthpieces have a good reputation for quality facings and the T27 is a fairly closed facing that isn't too long. This should be a good mouthpiece to train yourself on. Try it with the #2 reeds you have.

Get the horn serviced.

Thanks for response...

I will look to buy vandoren t27 than...
Mouthpiece I have is too opened tip... I expect playing will be easier with t27...

Later I will put some more photos here...
