Clarinet overhaul

Hello:

I would like the opinions of the forum regarding cleaning of the wood parts of the clarinet prior to applying the oil to the bore and exterior.

If so what are suggestions to removing any foreign material ( dirt etc. )
that might get trapped under the oil.

If not , you input regarding this also.
