I finally recieved my Xmas gift of The complete Jazz Casual Series (http://www.amazon.com/Jazz-Casual-Complete-Various-Artists/dp/B00069KWEE/ref=pd_bbs_sr_1?ie=UTF8&s=dvd&qid=1201978833&sr=8-1) and I am just blown away. Whether you are a player or just enjoy the Jazz genre, this is a must see/hear DVD collection. Coltrane on sop and tenor, Sonny doing his thang... This is living. :ugeek:

I have the Brubeck and the Coltrane DVD's. Off the top of my head I think that is it. My birthday just passed so I'll have to ask for this another time.

My brother and I used to watch this show when we got home from school. It came on at like 4:00pm in Jersey. This is the show from SF with Ralph Gleason, right? Watched 'em on our old RCA black and white console in the living room. Don't remember what day of the week, though.

Old guy checkin' in. :P

As I thought, there are a lot of clips on youtube.com (http://youtube.com/results’search_query=jazz+casual&search_type=).

Of course, they're probably good enough for you to want to buy the much higher-def DVD :).

Ralph was also involved with writing about jazz and had his own record label.
