I remember when this came out in 1984. I avoided it until tonight since I did not know that Gerry Mulligan was on it.

I'm continually amazed at just how much of a master Mulligan was at playing behind people and doing what seems to be perfect for a tune.

My wife likes Barry Manilow and now I can add it to the mp3 player and learn a thing or two from Gerry.

Ed: I heard this CD YEARS ago and while not a fan of modern styles (nor the baritone saxophone for that matter), I was totally impressed with Mulligan's playing on this CD. He is the only modernist I have in my collection - I even put it in my iPod!!! For me, that was the best example of baritone saxophone I've heard. DAVE
