I seem to have a problem posting foreign characters such as ?ccented vowels or even a degree (?) symbol. Is there anything wrong with my browser or does the site report the wrong encoding?
Yeah, mighty big problem, I agree. But it's annoying nonetheless. :-)

You noticed it too? I can't use bullets (having to sub in lower case "o" instead), my German all goes out the winder (no umlauts), and various other clever stuff we Macintosh people are used to is all off limits.
I've actually noticed it and told Ed about it slightly after we moved to this new format.
There's a type mismatch between the various servers we use (the HTML server that vBulletin the application is on, the server that runs PHP and the server that runs SQL) regarding character encoding and there's no easy fix for that and I've looked. Hard.
I have gotten the suggestion of backing up the SQL database, getting the webhost to do some magic (i.e. fix the server that has the type mismatch), creating a new database and then restoring the data. Unfortunately, this requires rebooting the server and taking out everyone else that's on this server share with us.
So, it's a difficult problem. I'm researching if there's an easier way of fixing, but I haven't found it yet.
