If you have thought of trying one, I'd recommend passing. I have one and before it broke, it was cumbersome to put the bass in and get the bass out from it. It was quite stable and held the instrument more securely than any other stand I've run across yet, but without the receipt you cannot get anything done under warranty and they do not sell parts.

On mine, the yoke that holds the bell separated from the rest of the stand. It appears that the metal had fatigued and just let go when my 15 month old son was playing with it, which I find unacceptable. I have other stands which have been played with much more severely than a 15 month old could ever play, and they are just fine.

Save your money and buy a K&M.

That is just lousy company service. Many manufacturers stand by their products . . . I've seen story after story for various products that failed and the companies sent out new ones, replacement parts, or did repairs for free.

This is the opposite - not a good way to earn your reputation in the accessories field. DAVE

I have two of their bari sax stands and initially I had good luck with them. After using them for a year or two I have to say that both of them have issues. One is tight when attempting to extend it and the other one has a lower peg that will only stop when it is at the bottom point. Both are usable but I expected more.

I suspect I'll finally lay down some cash for a saxrax.

I've always had the opinion that most musical accessories are not made for the long haul. While the horns may be built to give fifty or more years of service (I have several soprano clarinets that are pushing fifty years of age, and other horns (alto sax) that are far older than that), the tubing that I have seen as part of baritone sax stands is both flimsy and poorly welded. While it would do for an occasional use, putting something like that through a weekly grind of horn grabs and drops is asking for trouble.

I have yet to try a Sax Rax, mostly because they did not have what I wanted the last time that I was looking. If my last three bass clarinet stands ever give out, I'll have to be on the make again. But, for now, I'm sticking with my 1920's era design horn stands. They were built to last, but I wish I could buy a couple more, just in case.

I have one of these and it does the job for me. Holds the instrument very well. Sorry yours broke. At least it didn't break while holding your instrument. If it was me, I'd say stuff happens and I just buy another one. I mean... it's just a stand.

Just a thought my friend. Good luck :)
