View Full Version : Playing with some things ...
I've been playing with some header/footer banners, at Ed's request. You may see that the Google banner is no longer at the top of the page (i.e. "a header"), but it's now at the bottom of the page (i.e. "a footer").
If you see something that looks odd, please screen-shot it and post it here. It'll also be helpful if you list:
* What browser you're using
* What your screen size is
* What resolution your screen is
... however, don't fret too much if you don't know any of that.
Thanks!

Can't see anything here. Of course, I'm running Firefox 3.5.5 with Flashblock and NoScript enabled!
I use AdBlock, myself :).

The banner's still at the top here at Casa du Glassa. That is until I turn the style chooser to 'Default'. Now the top looks nakid.

Yah. It's your theme. Updated.
I'll try Ed's newest suggestion in just a bit.

Yah. It's your theme. Updated.Nope, after 20 years in the military, I'm 'mean green'. Way lame each style has to be tweaked. I hope that moving the Sax Calendar to the left next to the WF logo will up the purchases.

I really feel like a Neanderthal now.
My website hasn't changed (style, not contents) in over 5 1/2 years.
Makes me somewhat dependable, no? 8-)

I changed it again. That screenshot you have attached of my edit, Gandalfe, looks fine until you resize the page. I have to play with it a bit more.
ATM, the WF logo should be on the far left and the sax calendar mini-banner is on the far right.

Yeah, the sax cal link needs more white space. It's jammed in the corner now almost like an after thought.
Well, I can make the pic extra huge ....
While I am by no means a big design guy, I've learned two things about page layout:
* Less is MORE. Keep away from the shiny and flashy.
* Never use more than two different fonts on a page.
The idea behind my "banner" for the calendar was to have it no taller than the WF logo. It is, slightly, but that's only because the text becomes illegible if I make it smaller. Additionally, it's the same banner (see http://www.thesax.info/mediawiki-1.10.0/index.php?title=Calendar_project) I ask other folks to install if they want to support the calendar project.
