As much as I like 'em, you can turn off a lot of the eye candy in your User CP.
* Go to http://www.woodwindforum.com/forums/profile.php?do=editoptions
* Look for "Visible Post Elements" and uncheck everything.
* Click the "Save Changes" button, waay at the bottom of the page.
Additionally, we also have "Archive" mode, which is a link at the far lower right of the page (or http://woodwindforum.com/forums/archive/index.php). It's all text based and you can't reply (well, sorta: hit the "View Full Version" link at the top of an archive page and you can), but it loads very, very quickly.
As mentioned on another thread, I'm going to install a Style specifically for PDAs and Smartphones, so stay tuned.
