Kudos Pete! Job well done!
Welcome, small ensemble work can be really fun. Are you playing an instrument from 43 years ago?
This is kind how I see Pete's chair in my mind's eye, a mix of Thrones meets the IT god.
Measure 18 is buried in the middle of a 36 measure rest?
Hmm ... the blue tack worked for me. How much pressure are you applying to the thumb rest? I spend a lot of time with younger students teaching them to NOT press keys and rests hard because that can...
Might be worth $50 but will likely cost hundreds to update pads, felts, and corks to make it playable.
A nice temporary solution is to put some blue tack underneath it. You can adjust as necessary and remove once you don't need it.
Can you provide a picture please, we might be able to suggest a fix.
Tony, when you try a new mouthpiece do you use various strengths of reeds? I've heard that's what's required to really check out a new mouthpiece.
I can't do this myselfe because if I play a soft...
Helen, I loved my WinFone. When I became a social media contractor (yeah, I know, what is that?) I *had* to go to iPhone to get the apps I use daily to do my job. The iPhone just works for me, I'm on...
I have a lovely USB mic that I've never figured out how to use, so don't feel bad about the technology knowledge. Mostly it's about reading and catching from last week when you were up to date. ;)
Wow, that Conn Chu sop looks lovely! Thaks JB.
Woah, Mr Dibbs. Maybe I will take a look at recorders again as a couple of years ago I picked up clarinet and I'd like to try this fingering tip you've mentioned.
One more question: Is the majority of your music in 16/44, do you need an option to use 24/192 (both analog/digital)? By the way, this is what I believe about the latter format:...
Two things made me laugh, the red glasses (I have a pair) and the horrible sound the instrument makes. When I play my Leblanc Esprit alto clarinet, it actually sounds crystal clear and wonderful. But...
Most people don't even know there is an Eb soprano clarinet. That said, out of the ten or so community bands I've played in, only two had the Eb sop and NONE had the Eb alto clarinet. I only have an...
Assuming you mean Eb alto (not Eb soprano) clarinet, there are many on sale on eBay and you can fine them a plenty in pawn shops and music stores. They certainly are not in high demand, I've not seen...
Excellent. Terry, aka SOTSDO, is no longer on this plain but I think he would have approved too.
"There's a sucker born every minute" is a phrase most likely spoken by David Hannum, in criticism of both P. T. Barnum, an American showman of the mid 1800s, and his customers. The phrase is often...
Welcome to our forum. Do you want to buy new or used? If you are on a budget, this one looks promising: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Yamaha-YCL-221II-Standard-Bass-Clarinet-/261965201969
I ended up buying a really nice mouthpiece which fixed my voicing challenges. (Not just on bass clarinet btw.) I love my Walter Grabner but the Forbes is a nice low-priced alternative. Good luck!
Question: Why did flute makers go from the original wood to the metal flutes?
Pied Piper sez: Progress. If you build a better flute, they will come. That's what Theobald Boehm did and the rest is...
Have done long tone work before?
10k? Service or annoyance? That kind of through put, assuming 10k really equals a lot, borders on abuse.
Clarinet lamps are very trendy now-a-daze and you would most like make more by offering such a conversion up for sale. But ... you should never ask a musician if that is a good thing to do. ;)
