I sold mine last year. I had a Keilwerth which is not shown on this site. Great find Pete!
The most interesting thing about the J. Keilwerth company is that they made brasswinds. A lot of people are under the impression -- as I was -- that they were always saxophone-only.

How about the skoonum, a double bell trumpet invented by Billy Brooks? Brook's horn was played for a while by Cat Anderson of the Duke Ellington Orchestra. Brooks was an American trumpeter who was living in Holland when he came up with his new trumpet. It wasn't shaped like a saxophone, and I don't know much about the principles involved in playing it, but checking out this website made me think of the skoonum horn.
Julian
Baritone sax: more brass than the entire trumpet section and trombone section combined, but it's a woodwind.
My ex-wife was a trumpet player, so I know a bit about trumpet. I know some trombonist jokes: what do the Easter Bunny, Santa Claus and a trombonist with a girlfriend have in common?
