Altissimo

-- and I think you'd have toneholes on the neck.

Why not? You already get register keys on the neck, why not tone holes? On the soprillo, you have a register vent on the mouthpiece.

Actually, more toneholes is probably not the answer: just need another (altissimo) register vent in the right place. Isn't there a Selmer Paris tenor that has an altissimo vent?

As far as using altissimo, I could always co-opt a famous quote and say, "2-and-1/2 octaves is enough for anyone!"
Who said that? George Shearing?

My Barone tenor has high F# and G keys. The G tonehole is so far up, the neck tenon has a notch in it. So I guess you could say I have a tonehole in the neck.
