Lacquer is not original, because they didn't lacquer horns back then. This soprano is an older model with the more problematic octave mechanism. No snap-on pads. I hope he gets his price, but it's pretty optimistic.

I can tell the date, because I've got the pics. I just don't have the original HTML file, so I can't tell you the price. Oh, well.

The question you'd have to ask yourself re: lacquer is, "Was it lacquered over bare brass or was it lacquered then relacquered at some point?" The horn was offered in bare brass, after all, so the first pass couldn't be called "relacquering." I can say that the engraving and s/n stamp look fairly well defined, so I don't think it's a relacquer.

Groove, I didn't even notice the Snaps. You've got a good eye. I can see what look like nylon Selmer-style resos on the "bell." I can't tell in the other pics, so it might be a mix.
