How it looks when its done. The skin just peels off. :)
 
Do you use baking soda in the water when you remove lacquer this way?
 
Just water. The Martin lacquer turned white when it was ready, just like chicken. My Ex said the soup tasted a little bland when I gave her a bowl.
 
The "Thanksgiving Bari" overhaul is finally completed after some long delays waiting for the dent work and re-engraving to be done. Following Curt Altarac's advice I added a layer of carnauba wax to the body and keys which seems to help. This was a "school horn rescue" so there was a lot of work involved to bring it back to this level of looks and playability.
