Facilitating the high E on flute (followup of an older thread)

I wonder what would happen if the G key in question - i.e., the place where the do-nut goes, were an open hole key. Would this have the effect of venting the key and possibly eliminating the extra volume referred to in the following quote? --> "the presence of the duplicate tone hole creates a volume bubble in the center of the instrument. Some people seem to notice benefits from the donut of partially removing some of that extra volume."

That would work just fine if you could grow another finger on your left hand to cover the hole to play G and below. : )
