...unless I could examine it first, and even then I'd think long and hard. Note the "broken key" comment - you don't break keys on a clarinet unless the horn has been treated pretty roughly.

The biggest problem with Albert system horns is that they are all (with the possible exception of those indian abominations) older than sin. Old equates to many owners, long term storage, and a lack of provenance - all not good things.

My recently acquired Selmer (Paris) Mazzeo was a one-owner piece of equipment - he even sent me the original bill of sale. That's why all of the clutch stuff was present and accounted for - the first Mazzeo for sale that I have touched that had it all.

The horn is now being rebuilt by Marvin Krantz and his plating company friend. He claims that I should have it back by later this month. We'll see...
