Free sax trio (AAT)

A couple of days ago our bari player was unable to make our quartet rehearsal at the last minute. That would not usually be a problem as there are 6 of us in our quartet so we can cover parts for a gig as usually at least one of us can't make most dates!

But we were down to 4, and then to 3.

Rather than cancel, I dashed into the IMSLP website and printed off a trio I found after a quick search. It was a random search and grab!

What a find. Really enjoyable trio, 30 pages long, many different musical styles covered and written extremely well, and easy to sight read. And I mean many different style; as the movements progressed we covered all classical styles, with some ballad, rock, blues and bossa in the middle!! We had a ball blowing through, generally repeating each movement as we went along because they were such good fun. It kept us entertained for a couple of hours.

So I would really recommend the suite, found here, for 3 saxes.
