Hot New Piece for Clarinet Choir

I'd like to introduce all of you who play in or lead a good Clarinet Choir or Clarinet Orchestra (or know someone who does) to my new composition:

3 Outside

Clarinet Choir (Eb clarinet, 7 Bb clarinets, alto clarinet,
2 bass clarinets, contra-alto clarinet)
total dur. 17′

Three very different movements, each projecting a distinct energy–mechanical, natural, human–in a different outdoor setting, Written for Los Angeles Clarinet Choir, Margaret Thornhill, director.

The first movement plays out my fascination with the theoretical correlation between colors and sounds, though not in a scientific way. The middle movement is another of my nature pieces, immersed first in high mountain moonlight, then in wind in pine trees.

You can listen to performance MP3s and see the score here:

I publish it in inexpensive .pdfs with a copy fee.
Please let me know if you are interested in this piece. You can click "Order" on the website (there is no transaction, it just sends email, so you can send questions).

If you like it and want to post a comment here, that would be cool too!

Thanks,

David Avshalomov, composer
