Jupiter & Thomann?

hi all!

I want to buy a baitone sax, but I don't want to spend that much.
here in europe we have an incredible homepage, http://www.thomann.de, wich is famous for the incredible low prices.
I would like to know if some of you guys never played/tried/heard a jupiter baritone or a thomann baritone.
and in that case, how good are they....

I think the Jupiter 993 is a pretty nice horn. I prefer the Yani 901 just a bit more but I rather like Yanagisawa saxophones.

Merlin will hopefully chime in as he knows a bit about Jupiter horns.

The 993 is a killer bari, and a great deal.

There's a new CD out by Jim Galloway's Wee Big Band. It's called Blue Reverie, and I'm playing my 993 on that disc. It's on the Sackville label.

My son's Jupiter got stolen when he was in high school ('97) and I replaced it with what I thought was state of the art, a Yani 990. To this day he still wishes he had and prefers the Jupiter. Jupiters have quite a rep. Still I play a Yani 991.
