Louis Cahuzac (1880-1960) was an extraordinary influential French clarinetist, teacher and composer. On this lovely record he plays "Introduction et variations sur l'air de Marlborough pour clarinette et piano" by Henri Paradis (1861-1940), a now forgotten French composer (found no information in any of the five (!) music encyclopedias I consulted). Those facts makes this recording unique and highly valuable. It was made for Od?on in February, 1930. The accompanying pianist remained uncredited.
Astonishingly beautiful; I could listen to this all day.
