I post 'em as I find 'em. Helen, interestingly enough, this is the same bass that you have pics of on your website. You mention that it's been on eBay twice. Now it's at a dealer.

$4995.

As always, I'm not affiliated with the website selling the horn, etc. I just know that there are a lot of folks looking for cheap basses. This is definitely one of 'em. However, this one is ... pretty rough. I'm being charitable.

It's certainly got more patches than I've ever seen on any other single instrument!

Mine was rough when I got it, but only one patch on the neck:

Interesting that Paul now ended up with this poor old old thing. It's certainly been kicking around for a while. IIRC, the last person to own it--and try to sell it--was a buddy of Saxplayer 1004. (I think I got his screen name right.) Tom, are you around? Does your buddy still own it and have it on commission with PM Woodwind? Or did he trade it?

I know at one time Tom was briefly considering using it for his low A or G bass extension horn project than Martin Mods is doing for him.

Last time I talked to Sarge at Worldwide Saxes in Everett, WA, he said he was not going to do bass saxes anymore. They really are quite the beast to bring back to life. And Sarge has saved many a bass sax from the land fill.
