I mentioned at http://www.woodwindforum.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1208http://www.woodwindforum.com/community/viewtopic.php?f=180&t=555 that a gentleman sent me a rather old Kohlert catalog. He also included an old R&C advertisement for the "American Model Improved by Mr. Rinaldo Delle Piane" model alto and tenor (alternate altissimo D, D#, E & F keys). English, but the prices are in Lire. There's also a page describing the alternate keywork.

The horn pictured is similar to this alto (I have a soprano pic someplace).

The copy reads (I'm going to try to keep the formatting intact):

Sensational
Big-Improvement!
the
KING of
Saxophones!
the "NON PLUS-ULTRA"
of
Perfection!

(Each line is in a different font, BTB.)

The interesting thing is that they advertise that this new keywork can be added to any saxophone. The second interesting thing is that Google returns nothing for "Rinaldo Delle Piane", other than an author. Hey, that's the spelling in the ad.
