I finally got all of the parts finished and scanned for my Sleepy Creek Samba chart. I'm looking for ensembles that would like to give it a try. It's reasonably straight-forward.
The piece is scored for soloist, 5-piece horn section, and rhythm. A flexible approach to instrumentation is used to enable many kinds of ensembles to perform this music -- such as a sax section, brass section, mix of saxes & brass, woodwind quintet, clarinet ensemble, or a custom mix of tone colors.
Perhaps 6 players & rhythm section of a big band could do it. Another possibility could be to double parts so most of the players in the band are playing.
