Should I buy a pre R13 made in 1925?

Is this clarinet because of it's age going to sound any better than a newer clarinet? Does the aged wood make any difference? The one I am looking at is a Pre R13 with a serial # that dates it to 1925. I am not able to play this instrument before purchase, and will not be using it professionally.

Just curious about your thoughts and why an older Pre R13 is so much cheaper to buy than even the E11's?

Thanks

Keep in mind a new E11 is a new E11 based on retail price.

A 1925 clarinet is 86 years old. It's condition can be anywhere from really good to .. 86 years worth of usage.

Other than that the clarinet will play as well as it is setup.
Without pictures, someone play testing it, we can't really tell much more about it.

Standard FAQ for horn value. Not just monetary value.

I wish you luck!
