Treatment of Used but unplayed oboe

I'm looking to purchase a used Rigoutat Riec oboe to replace my student oboe that I have outgrown (I'm a retired beginner). The oboe was fully serviced by Howarth London 2 years ago, but has not been played since. It has a stuck key which I have been told by my local woodwind service shop that it may have dried out over the 2 years and will should free up after a few weeks of playing and probably would not need a further service My question is should I treat it as a new oboe so as to not encourage cracks.
