    LLC, UBI or SSN?

I agree with this. It's how I have handled band business for a series of bands over the past 30 years. Also not a CPA, but a degree in accounting, and I was the CIO for a large accounting firm for about 8 years.

LeBlanc Noblet 40 circa 1950's value?

Are these the large bore instruments? That was definitely a fad a number of years ago for doublers. Put on a large tip opening mouthpiece and you could actually be heard over a big band.

    Faces to best friends

Never say never, but I think we are done. I'm 68 and my wife is 70. While we are both in relatively good health, there is always the chance that a dog could outlive us. Quinn and Morgan were our sixth and seventh Golden Retrievers. While their average lifespan is 10-12 years, we did have one...

    Faces to best friends

Well, we lost Quinn this week. He went to day play on Monday, came home and took a nap. When he woke up he was gasping for breath. Took him to the emergency vet. He had pericardial effusion (fluid around the heart) and his lungs were also full of fluid. Not much they could do about it. But he...

    Text books on saxophone playing

John, Welcome to our quiet little corner of the internet. I like to say that what we lack in quantity is more than offset by the quality of posts and posters. Regards, Bob

Any help on information on this Clarinet? Was my fathers and I believed he played in Big Bands in the 50s Many Thanks

It's a desirable clarinet, but value will depend on condition. If it hasn't been played in years in may need an overhaul, which could cost $400 - $500 (or more if there are cracks in the wood). I'm not familiar with any Irish woodwind stores, but I would try to find one and take it there to get...

Any help on information on this Clarinet? Was my fathers and I believed he played in Big Bands in the 50s Many Thanks

It's a Buffet Crampon. A very desirable model. Will need the serial number to date it. Should be a 5 digit number on the back side of the upper and lower joints (the parts with keys on them).

    RocknRoller Carts

I've had an RR-12 for 20+ years. Great concept and very sturdy. The only problem I had was the cart originally came with inflatable balloon tires and in late years the casters were always going flat. I replaced them with the "no flat" foam filled tires about 6 years ago and no more problems...

Selmer Paris BT, Serial number not on the lists

Here is the Clarinet Perfection serial # chart. It looks like it dates from 1934 or 1935.

    Buffet 1180 Bass Clarinet - SN#29557

Well, you sort of came to the right place. @Steve hosts his Clarinet Perfection web site here. Here is a link to the Buffet serial #s. If you scroll to the bottom of the page, there is a list for harmony clarinets. Unfortunately it ends in 1993 at #26734. So probably mid to late 1990s. Steve...

    Question

Here is a link about the rules for our marketplace. I think you will find that most online forums have similar rules. Sax On The Web requires (I think) 6 months and 50 posts. I don't know about Amati clarinets, but if the saxophones are pro quality (Selmer Paris, Yansgisawa, Keilwerth, some...

    Fixed it.

DIY repad on a selmer 10G bflat

Depending on your location, I would figure on $400 to $500 for a professional overhaul. Perhaps less if a small independent shop. Kessler Music in Las Vegas says $450 plus more if any keys need to be re-fitted.

Clarinet replacement barrels - how to pick one?

A little more info would help. 1. Why do you think you need a replacement? 2. Is the current one damaged / cracked? 3. Does it not play in tune? 4. If it doesn't play in tune, what is the end to end length in millimeters? 65 or 66 mm is kind of the standard, but there is some variance there. I...

    I'm not dead, yet.

Ooooh. I didn't think to check my old Franklin Planner. I did have a pocket for the Palm there. Maybe it's in the same box that I can't find.

    I'm not dead, yet.

Somewhere in a moving box in my storeroom, I have a Palm Pilot III (1999), the charging / data transfer dock, and a CD of the software. If the battery hasn't died, I bet it will still work, but I need to find a computer with a serial port to connect the dock.
