C soprano

I just received a C-soprano from a customer with a MP.
It is a Conn with a Beuscher mp that plays pretty powerful if you want to.

Can it replace OBOE parts in concert band?
We have no oboist.

Eventually I'll have to repad it but it plays well even with rustic pads.
 
There's no question that it can be used to play the oboe part. Whether or not your listeners want to hear it is another question entirely. You could play the part on a clarinet as well, and it might be less "flyaway" in that fashion.

For that matter, a careful trumpet player can fake an oboe part pretty well.
