I'm wondering how rare flute choirs really are and this come across my computer. Check out the Flute Choir of Atlanta. It looks like many of the performers play more than one flute. :ugeek:

Peter Schickele has composed a couple works for flue choirs: Monochrome I and Monochrome V -- both for 8 flutes, with some piccolo work.

As I've said in a lot of places, I like Schickele.

However, I've not heard a "flute ensemble" or "flute quartet" like a saxophone ensemble/quartet. It'd be interesting, I'd think.

Flute Choir's seem to be quite popular at colleges. I haven't really heard of any classical flute choirs in the Chicago area made up of professionals.

  4. i found a couple of things composed for flute quartets
    you can see/hear them at:
    http://www.flutetunes.com/tunes.php?instr=4
i don't like the first one, but the second one is o.k
flutetunes.com is where i get most of my sheet music.

but i haven't found anything for 6 flutes
