    Just to give you an idea of how much you're going to spend on one ...

    =============

    The Conn New Wonder 16V Eb Contrabass was originally NOT available in lacquer, but bare brass -- and, of course, all of Conn's other finishes available for the New Wonder saxophones. So, if you see "lacquer," that's not original.

    Conn New Wonder Eb Contrabass 16V: $7250
    . Sold in 2016. Fully overhauled. Relacquer.
    Conn New Wonder Eb Contrabass 16V: about $8000. Sold in 2016. Bare brass; good pads.
    Conn New Wonder Eb Contrabass 16V: $5900. Sold in 2016. Needs overhaul. 40% lacquer.
    Conn New Wonder Eb Contrabass 16V: $8599 and not sold yet. Been relisted several times. 75% lacquer. Needs overhaul.
    Conn New Wonder Eb Contrabass 16V: $7000. Sold in 2016. Good pads, etc. 40% or so lacquer. Only 1 bid.

    "D.N" Eb Contrabass Sarrusophone: $2935. Sold in 2016. Bare brass. Wreck. Rusty. No damaged toneholes or other major trauma. Missing bocal. Only 2 bids.
    This horn's not a Conn design. "D.N" could be "Denis Noblet." I don't know if they sold Sarrusophones, though. I'll check up on the maker's mark eventually.

    Guatrot-Marquet Bb Bass Sarrusophone: $4916. Sold in 2016. Bare brass. Nice shape. This ad's taken from a scam website, but the ads are generally something that's recently been on eBay, so the price is probably valid. (As an example, one of the 16Vs from the above list is also on that website.)
