International Saxophone Symposium

Discussion in 'Get Togethers' started by Al Stevens, Dec 11, 2008.

  1. It's about chops. The short time I played a soprano, its weight generated significant pain in and about my right thumb. A strap helped bear some of the weight. I thought about designing a glove-like device to transfer the weight to the forearm. Then I stopped thinking about that and thought instead about not playing the soprano. A better thought.

It took me years to develop a soprano sound I liked. Trying to play the sopranino and then soprillo helped.

I'm not there with my tenor sound yet. Alto and bari just seem to pop for me. Go figure. :???:
