jbtsax (John Talcott aka saxoclese) passed away yesterday. He was active here for quite a while, but hasn't been around for a year or so.

Yes, I was about to post this. Thank you saxhound for doing this.

John and I corresponded over the years not only via forums, but also via email and even via snail mail. He and I would chat about everything from sax acoustics, to vintage German saxophones, to alto saxophone mutes.

I have one of the alto sax mutes he made. Works great. I teased him and asked him why he would send me a mute.

RIP John. Hope they have a great band wherever you are now.
