    Nestico's charts are always exceptionally classy. "Classy"' might be a vague description, but it's the most accurate word I know of to describe his music.

    This is one of my favorite Nestico charts. Some nice changes for the tenor solo, and the sax soli takes some work.

    Getting that Basie sound (yeah I know Nestico's group did this but where do you think a lot of their players came from) is always a challenge. We'll see how close we get at the reading session tomorrow night. Wish me luck!

    So a month has passed since I asked the saxes to tilt their lances at this baby. We haven't played it once in practice. But I will make sure that the director programs it for the May concert.
