This one is several years old. The arrangement was written by my friend Robert Sheldon, who was curator of musical instruments for the Library of Congress at the time. Mr. Sheldon is a french horn player from Eastman School of Music, and an authority on early American brass, and he loves the saxophone.

The arrangement was originally written for brass ensemble, but Bob redid it for saxophones. I recorded it on a multitrack recorder so that he could hear how it sounded. The soprano part sometimes goes into altissimo so I switched to sopranino a couple of times.

Pavanne, by Morton Gould, for saxophone sextet: sopranino, soprano, alto, tenor, baritone, bass.

Well done sir ! Nice arrangement, performance and recording. That took some time for sure !

Thanks for sharing !

Is this chart available? I'd like to try it out, maybe tweak the instrumentation to suit what I have available.
