Pruefer Clarinets

Can anyone speak to how Pruefer clarinets rate in the pantheon of non-professional clarinets? I'm looking at a silver tone made probably in the 1960s.

Thanks,

Paul

I have a silver throat Pruefer that seems stuffy to me. The keyworks are okay. But then I'm used to a Buffet R-13 Festival and the wife plays Leblanc Opus and Concerto models. The silver throat doesn't even compare in sound and projection to my grandson's Buffet B-12 which is a student model I picked up for a couple hundred bucks new.

Still one sold in March on Ebay for $47 and $60 on Craigs list earlier this year. So for an average player or a doubler, that would be fine. But anticipate upto $150 on a repad etc. It was described as a composite body with white brass keys. And remember a pro can make almost any instrument so great. For the rest of us, well sometimes we need a little help.

Sorry for the delay in this. Thanks for the info!

Given what was a very detailed description of condition, plus many pics, I plunged and spent $59. We'll see how it works out...
