Smaller Ups and Downs (5 winds & soloist) has been added to the American Music Center online library. This is a highly improv-based piece having a great amount of freedom for both the soloist and ensemble musicians. The cover page and performance notes in the score explain the concepts of the piece. While it was conceived for woodwind quintet (with alto flute), a flexible approach is used for the ensemble. Creative combinations of tone colors is encouraged!
