Someone please help me identify this saxophone

Discussion in 'Saxophones' started by Kris.kenneway, Aug 29, 2016.

  1. Can someone please help me identify this saxophone. Have been searching for days with no luck. It just says Custom Winds and has numbers on back that when I search them, come back as cannot locate. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Chinese or Taiwanese copy of a Selmer. A tenor Custom Winds horn recently sold on eBay for all of $81.

So, not exactly a highly regarded instrument. If you have a mouthpiece with it that's not stamped "Custom Winds," it may be worth more than the horn.

  3. Oh wow, thank you so much, you have just prevented me from going absolutely insane. I have been trying to research information every day for hours these last 5 days. And no the mouth piece does not have a stamp. It looks very poorly made. My best friend paid $1200 a year ago because her 12 year old son wanted to play it in the band, but due to severe asthma he just can't play so she was going to sell it. Again, I thank you so very much.

  4. $1200 to $100 in one year, now that's serious depreciation.
