Stolen sax alert

Hey folks,

A thief broke into a friend of mine's car on the weekend and stole his beautiful silver-plated SBA tenor. He's really hoping it'll turn up, and I told him I know some folks who watch like hawks for stuff like this.

I'll get the serial number from him, but it has a broken spring on the low C#.

Please have an eye if you can.

Thanks,
Rory

ps. Here's my friend Jeff and the sax in a cool video. He's an awesome guy and that horn is his prized possession. I'm a peaceful man, but I'd surely like to lay a beating on the punk(s) who took it.

What's the general geographical locale?

Good idea! It was stolen in Halifax, Nova Scotia. There's virtually no way it could be sold to a shop around here, so we're thinking the crook might try to contact a merchant elsewhere.

Stolen SBA tenor

Hi again folks,

Just wanted to add the serial number of that stolen SBA tenor:

22982

If anybody has any advice on what to do about stolen horns, I'll be happy to pass them along.

Thanks,
Rory

There was at least one thread going on SOTW that was specifically about stolen horns and there's more than one website out there that tries to track them. Google is our master.

Rory, if that's the true serial number, then the stolen horn would be a balanced action, not a super balanced. Just mentioning that in case the thief knows what they have and advertise it as such.
Has your friend checked for any surveillance/security cameras located near his car at the time of the the theft?

Julian

Hey Pete!

I found this one, but it didn't seem to go anywhere?

Hey Julian!

Thanks. I didn't know there was a difference, but I'm sure you're right.

Anybody want to hazard a replacement value?

great news

Fantastic news! I guess the thief had an attack of humanity: the horn was returned to the owner unharmed!!!
