Symbol and how to play

    Hello forum members:

    I have attached portion of composition with symbol ( see arrow ) .

    Would someone please explain this symbol and how it should be played.

    called a turn
    typically note, note above, note, note below, note

    In that context,
    I THINK
    it's D E F# E D E
    Could be wrong, but all the turns are different, depends on where you're coming from, where you're going, how fast it is etc...

    Grupetto is the Italian term.

    In this case, the # sign is below the turn, indicating that the notes should be D E D C# D E
