Tuning my Bass at 440

Hi !
After some practice with my Selmer 22 I've checked the intonation and found that I need to adjust for almost 10mm off the neck length to play (near) perfectly at A=440 Hz
I'm not very disappointed for this even if I found that, with the second neck piece all inserted, the instrument is more free blowing
Someone has experience with this? It is a model "issue"?

I don't know that specific model but would say this is not abnormal. After all, it should also be possible to play at A=442 which wouldn't be possible if the neck were all the way in at A=440. A bit of wiggle room rarely hurts. Just try a different mouthpiece and see how much you'll have to adjust the neck in order to get it to play in tune.
