Are you asking a question here? From the stamping, it appears to be one, but from the texture of the body in the photos, I'd be inclined to think that it is not.

However, I don't claim to be the world's authority on the Buffet brand, so take what I say with cum grano salis.

R13?

From the texture I would suggest not. Also, R13's do not have any model designation, only the makers name. Does it have a cut-out in the wood (if indeed it is wood) under the r/h pinky key cluster? I've vever seen an R13 supplied with 2 barrels. The case is not the standard buffet R13 case. Treat this with suspicion.

Whatever it is, the side Eb/Bb key is bent so far out of position that it might well break if you tried to bend it back.

Not much, I'd assume.

I'll delete this thread tomorrow if OP doesn't actually post a question.

If the question is, "Is this really an R13?" I'm inclined to say that it isn't. R13s do have model designations on some of their horns. However, the stamp isn't on the bell. If you flip through the Buffet catalog, you'll see that the R13 badge is on the upper joint.

I did a little picture browsing online and I did see some student model Buffets with a model stamp on the bell, but this isn't reflected in Buffet's catalog, so I'm suspicious. (I did find some older R13s that had "R13" by the serial number, but it was just stamped into the joint; no gold highlights.)

For what it's worth, there are lots of websites where you can get R13s (and other professional horns) from China for mega cheap prices, as in this ad. If the price is too good to be true, it probably is. If the ad has obviously Photoshopped horns, don't buy 'em.

This is definitely not a buffet R13, no doubt about it. This looks like a fake clarinet that is not even a real Buffet.

Buffet R13 clarinets are wood and don't have a model number on them. This looks like it's probably a plastic clarinet and has a model number. I wouldn't even bother checking for the R13 cutout :) It might have glued tone holes which R13 doesn't have and the s/n look like a regular Chinese clarinet stamp (R13 doesn't have a filled s/n).

:p Hey, I have pictures to back me up. However, it's really a badge and not a stamp, if you want to go with that distinction.

Anyhow, I'm not seeing OP deliver, so I'm closing the thread.
