Conn and Martin Bass Saxes

Hey. He even says that the Martin's built by Conn. Good work.

Looking at his other saxes he really likes his Conn's.
Conn nino
Conn C soprano
Conn Bb soprano
Conn 26M alto
Conn 30M tenor
and his Bass.

His bari is a Buescher Big B.

One of the nicest sounding baris I've ever played was a late True Tone in gold plate (with bullet hole in bell). Deep, rich tone. Then again, I think Rascher designed his mouthpieces primarily around the Buescher horns :).

The Conn baris look really nice, at least later Standard 12Ms. I'd like to try one in good shape and see if they compare to my experience with the 30M tenor. The POS New Wonder bari I used to use really soured me on Conns -- and it wasn't Conn's fault; the horn was just beat up. Then I played a lot of other New Wonders in a lot better shape and ... I guess that model just really doesn't work for me.
