A friend has this bass clarinet---Andre Petit, Paris inscribed on the bell---and I would like to know any info regarding the bass clarinet?? Made in France? year(s) manufactured?? Thanks --would appreciate any info.....

I just wanted to know any history of the Andre Petit, Paris maker. Maybe there is none, but was just curious.

A decent web search doesn't turn up anything. But then you probably knew that. Now if you're talking cognac, there would be more info. Sorry.

I like the name of the maker, though. Abbreviate the first name and it is 'Apetit'.



However, if you are looking for a value I can offer you an amateur opinion without knowing anything else about it. As long as it's low pitched, goes to low Eb and not in need of more than some pad work and regulation with no cracks, it is probably worth $400-$600 as an in-person sale. Be glad, if it were a Bb soprano, you would probably be looking at a measly $30-$50.
