I got a PM on this, so I thought I'd share:
Remember that we're trying to write out threads for beginners. While I enjoy the banter, what I want to be able to do is that if a beginner asks a question, I can refer him to the thread that answers the question.
(In other words, I want to prevent having 450 threads that talk about "which horn is the best student saxophone" or when to use that chromatic Eb on your clarinet.)
Try to keep the sarcasm to a minimum and try not to go too far off topic. In the former case, a beginner might not get it. In the latter case, you're just going to confuse people.
