Sopranino Recorder, Anyone?

I just got a brand new Yamaha YRN-22B to help kick off my recorder collection and to go with my YRS-24B Soprano. Sopranino is just a blast to play, but the fingerings are hard to get used to.

Is it any different from an Alto recorder (also in F)?

Else just remember your clarinet's chalumeau fingerings.

If you like playing recorder, consider upgrading to the Yamaha 30 or 300 series plastic recorders. Much better sound - the tenor in particular is exceptionally good.

One caveat though; I couldn't stand Yamaha's 'nino. Ended up getting an Aulos sopranino from their 500 series. Far superior to Yamaha's.

I should play my Moeck rosewood and ivory sopranino a bit more often, because it's one of the nicer instruments I own. I bought it over 35 years ago - just as well, as I couldn't justify buying one now!
